Lots of lots
With so many tremendous lots on offer and hordes of eager bidders keen to bag them, the Auction of Pledges was bound to be one fantastic night. The Headmaster welcomed top auctioneer Eric Knowles to the school and thanked him and the team for preparing the evening. Then it was down to business. The AuctionEric had over 100 lots to auction off. No matter if it was a week in Tobago or a chocolate cake, in Eric's hands the lot sounded like a must-have. The ensuing bidding wars made for some great entertainment. Our big screen totaliser kept the bidders up-to-date with the money raised. With the ticket and bar sales added in, more than £9,000 will now help fund projects for the school. Some folks ended up with bargains, some with unique items the likes of which will never be seen again. All had a truly memorable evening. Many, many thanksIt would have been a dull evening with no lots or bidders. Huge thanks go to those who bid for the items and to the individuals and companies who donated them. The PA are also very grateful to Eric Knowles who gave his time to make the evening extra special. He ran the auction for three hours straight without a break - what a pro! Eric was happy to be re-united with his gavel, last seen when he led our last auction some three years back... We don't often mention the folks who work behind the scenes to bring PA events to life. But this event is unique - it's taken well over six months of hard work and involved all of the PA Committee members one way or another. Special thanks go to these superstars: Libby for leading the event, Gill for rounding up so many lots and Jay for producing the brochures. Great work all! Photo Slideshow
