| Bollywood Nights
Curry, colour and classic moments
The glitz, glam and liveliness of India’s world renowned film industry came to the RGS on Saturday 13 October in the form of the Bollywood Ball. Over 140 guests arrived to the sound of a traditional drummer and were treated to a champagne reception where the champagne kept flowing and the samosas kept coming. The display of formal Indian amongst both the ladies and gentlemen attire was truly magnificent and added that finishing touch to the colourfully decorated space and hall. Dinner was an exquisite banquet of Indian fare, with the added appeal of a side cheese-board for those without a sweet tooth. During the meal we were treated to a display of Indian dancing by Gheeta and the excitement of film competition for the £50 prize. As the meal finished, the news that England had won was cause for further celebration, and then the serious dancing could begin. With the live band, 'Soulmates', and our ever popular disco led by Co-Djz, the hall was rocking until 12.30 am non-stop.
