The Queen’s Hall was full to the brim once again when 41 teams battled their wits against each other on 24th January at the PA Family Quiz night. The hope was that someone might defeat the long standing champions, The Antiquated Masters. Vain hope! The Antiquated Masters triumphed once again, although only by one point this year; coming a close second was Not Just Chemists (also made up of some teaching staff), the only consolation being that at least our boys are in expert hands! It was marvellous to see so many boys’ tables again this year, many of whom put us adults to shame!

During the evening brains were fed with baked potatoes with a choice of toppings and side salad, to the accompaniment of “Ad Lib”, one of our very own Year 11 jazz bands.

Mr. Wilson was in his usual good form as Quizmaster keeping everyone under control whilst they were trying to solve the questions so expertly set by Mr. Shreeve. A big ‘thank you’ to both of them, to Steph Russell and the ladies in the Resources centre for organising the table plans, and to everyone who helped out on the night – we couldn’t have done it without you! The total raised from the evening was almost £2,500, which will go towards the glazing in of the Queen’s Hall and other RGSPA Projects.
