Real Cheese, Real Wine, Real Support
"The Best" is a phrase often associated with the RGS. Our May Wine Tasting event brought both the best in wine and and British cheese to the Queen's Hall. Around 100 guests sampled wines chosen by RGS parent Mark Hughes of The Real Wine Company. Mark lead us through the intricacies of tasting with tips on how to really enjoy white, sparkling, rosé and red. To complement the tasting, Les Root of Roots Delicatessen supplied some excellent British cheeses, including a homespun version of Parmesan and a surprisingly tasty cheddar. The evening was a great success with many new wine aficionados placing orders for their favourites. All the surplus cheese quickly disappeared as did the Roots discount vouchers. A huge thank you to Mark and Les for working together to make the combination work so well. Also, big thanks to Steph in Resources for helping with ticket sales.
