The RGS Parents’ Association has been busy organising a Spring Raffle, to help raise funds to support the exciting ‘new look’ canteen project. This will benefit all our boys at RGS. It will be a place both to find something to satisfy their appetite and to relax and catch up with friends. We are sure that you will recognise this as a worthy focus.

Your sons will be given books of tickets to bring home. We would really appreciate it if you could encourage your son to sell these tickets to neighbours, family and friends. Boys in Years 7, 8 and 9 will be given five books of tickets; boys in Years 10, 11 and the Sixth Form will be given two books each. We have a wide range of exciting prizes to be won – some are listed on the tickets, you can see the whole - and very long - list here. It's being updated all the time as more prizes are donated.

We are incentivising the boys (and the teachers!) in order to sell as many tickets as possible. We have therefore decided to split the school into 3 stages: KS3, KS4 and Sixth Form. The top three ticket sellers (one from each stage) will receive a £30 voucher to reward them for their hard work. The winners will be able to choose from a choice of Game, iTunes, Waterstone’s or similar. We have also managed to secure a Mufti day for the three top selling classes (one from each stage) on the last day of the Spring Term. Yes, this does mean that the Sixth form will NOT need to come to school in their suits!

We very much hope that you will be able to support our raffle. However if you feel unable to purchase tickets but would still like to take part in our fund raising efforts, we would very gratefully receive any donation that you are able to give.

Any cheques should be made payable to RGSPA. Ticket stubs, unsold tickets and any money collected should be returned to Matron as soon as possible but no later than Friday 18th March 2011. Extra tickets can also be obtained from Matron. The draw for the raffle will take place at school on Wednesday 23rd March 2011.
