Chairman's Welcome Our new Chairman says hi!

Welcome indeed!

My name is Paul and I have the honour of being Chairman of the PA. I'm not going to repeat what the PA is all about - that's what the rest of the website is for.

I want to mention what might be missing.

Are you missing out?

If you have not been to a PA event, you have missed:

  • The opportunity to meet parents of other talented children
  • The chance to mingle with staff in less formal surroundings
  • Surprisingly fun and eventful evenings

So, come along to the next one, or read about previous events. If every parent attended just one PA event per year, we'd shoot past our fun raising target of £20,000.

Could your son miss out?

We fund projects throughout the school, mainly associated to extra-curricular activities. Scanners, digital cameras, sporting equipment, minibus leasing, the glazing for The Space under the Queen's Hall - it's impossible for your son not to benefit from something the PA has funded.

But without your continued support, we can't continue providing such things.

Is the committee missing your skills?

Committee is a scary word isn't it?

I bet you are already thinking of dull meetings, weak tea and busybody cliques. Well, that's not us! We're a jolly band who meet once a month - often over a glass of wine - to make sure all is on track.

No one on the committee is a professional fundraiser or event organiser - we are just a bunch of parents who pull together to make things happen.

I'm sure you could lend a hand or offer some new ideas. Go on - get in touch.

What are we missing?

If this website doesn't answer your questions about who we are and what we can offer you, please contact us. If you have a question, another parent will most likely have the same query - but if no-one asks how can we answer!

Also, is there an event you'd love to see us offer? Or a fund raising idea that we have missed? Please get in touch and let us know.

Thanks for visiting our little corner of the web. I hope to see you at the RGS sometime soon.
