The PA now runs a regular Year 7/8 Disco with boys from RGS & girls from Becky High & Wycombe High Schools. These discos are a marvellous opportunity for our boys to meet that fascinating species (girls!) in a fun but safe environment. Each event is closely supervised by members of the PA and staff.

The most recent Disco was held on Friday 24th Feb and over 350 boys and girls came and had a great time - many of the dancers had been to previous discos at the RGS, but there were also new faces enjoying the cross-school opportunity to make friends. The most popular dance was the "arches", where the boys and then the girls took turns to form a very long arch for their fellows to duck under. See the photos below to get a taste of the colour, motion and liveliness of the event.

Not only did the boys have a really enjoyable evening, but between the entrance tickets and sales of soft drinks and "glow sticks" on the night, they also raised over £1000 towards a variety of RGSPA school projects.

The changes made to the organisation after the last disco seemed to work well. The requirement for the boys to show their Smart Card ID for entrance prevented over-crowding and any issues with boys from other schools, and the extra helpers on hand made for an easier job for all the supervisors.

Car parking was much better than last time too thanks to the car park attendants. With so many parents collecting their children at once there's bound to be some waiting, but the cars seemed to flow very well with only a few parents waiting for a space. We hope that parents appreciated the extra effort that went into ensuring that safety remained paramount. Thank you to all parents for your co-operation and patience.
