Strictly Fun Dancing and no Bruce Forsyth in sight

For those who thought Salsa was a spicy tomato sauce, Saturday 4th March was quite an eye opener!

The evening got off to a great start with an impressive set from the school's own Jazz Band. Then it was time to put the glad rags on and get on the dance floor.

Expert tutors Beckie and Rico carefully lead over 100 parents, staff and guests through the Salsa step by step, so even those who barely knew left from right soon learned how to strut their stuff. Their method of regularly switching dance partners allowed everyone to get involved and make more friends throughout the evening.

Food was served at half time, when the boys came back to entertain with some more Jazz numbers. Loosened up by a glass of wine or two, the crowd were ready to learn the intricacies of Jive.

Beckie and Rico have been teaching various dance styles for a number of years. If you are interested in taking your dancing one step further, you can find more details at their website - Live2Jive.

A huge 'Thank You' and 'Well Done' are due to the event organisers and helpers who ensured everything ran smoothly on the night. Everyone who planned the night, ran the bar, worked the kitchen or assisted in any other way did a great job. The evening raised funds for a variety of RGSPA school projects.

If you want a second opinion, just take a look at some of the feedback received on the night:

"Thank you very much for another fun evening - would love the same again"

"A well organised event - great to see teachers so involved!"

"Well taught and good fun. Good balance between food, socialising & dancing."

"Now I am a salsa ace, I shall be gyrating around the supermarkets on a regular basis scaring children and embarrassing other shoppers. Thank you all so very much."
